Are you ready for Jim Carrey the magician? It could be a lot of fun (assuming he actually tries to be funny, which he seems to have forgotten how to do in his last few movies). Deadline reports that Carrey is now in discussions to star in Burt Wonderstone, alongside Steve Carell.
The film centres on Steve Carell's title character, a popular Las Vegas magician who gets upstaged by a hip new street performer. Wonderstone then goes on a journey of self-discovery to reclaim his love of magic. It isn't completely clear who Jim Carrey is playing, but it seems he would play the street magician.
Carrey and Carell worked well together in Bruce Almighty and they'll soon both be voices in Horton Hears A Who, so this third tie up is fairly welcome news.
It isn't known when production will start on Burt Wonderstone, but seeing as the script has been around since 2006, let's hope it's fairly soon.
