The promotion of Tim Burton's Dark Shadows has begun, with EW debuting the first image from the movie last week and now Empire bringing us a couple of shot of the director at work on the set. You can see tham above and below. In the film, Johnny Depp plays Barnabas Collins, who was turned into a vampire by a witch in the 18th Century and then buried alive.
Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to old home, Collinwood Manor, to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter, Jonny Lee Miller, Jackie Earle Haley, Chloe Moretz and Gulliver McGrath also star. The movie, based on a 1960s US supernatural soap opera, will be in cinemas next year.
