It appears Social Network's Jesse Eisenberg may have been a bit jealous of Armie Hammer getting to play dual roles in the Facebook movie, as Vulture reports that he's keen to do the same in The Double.
With movie will be Richard Ayoade's next film after the success of Submarine, and will be based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s novella The Double. It’s the tale of a Russian government clerk whose life unravels after what he believes is a doppelganger of himself, who has the same name and history, begins working in his office. Vulture says it's 'Fight Club for bureaucrats'.
If it all pans out (Eisenberg's involvement hasn't been officially announced yet), Jesse will play the main character. We probably can't expect the flashly special effects Armie Hammer got for Social Network, but a double dose of Eisenberg, with Ayoade behind the camera, could certainly be interesting.
