Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson is in talks for two high profile roles - the Oliver Stone-directed drama Savages, and a romantic lead role alongside Keira Knightley in Anna Karenina.
Variety reports that Jude Law is also in talks for Anna Karenina, an adaptation of Tolstoy's classic love story. Tom Stoppard is writing the script, while the movie will be directed by Atonement helmer Joe Wright. Production will most likely start in the fall. Knightley's already on board for the title role, although is hasn't been confirmed who either Johnson or Law would play. My betting is Law will be the man Anna is stuck in a loveless marriage with, while she lusts after Johnson's dashing soldier.
Oliver Ston'e Savages meanwhile is about two best friend pot growers who share a gorgeous lady and a huge problem: their pot is so good that a Mexican drug cartel has kidnapped their gal and will kill her if the growers don't go to work for them. Scripted by Shane Salerno and Don Winslow (who wrote the novel on which the movie is based), the film is set to shoot in June. Jennifer Lawrence is Oliver Stone's first choice to play O, the kidnapped free spirited sexpot, but her participation is uncertain at the moment, especially as she's just signed on for Hunger Games.
Deadline reports Johnson's been offered the role of one of the pot growers, although it's not clear how interested he is in the movie. We'll have to wait and see.
