On Monday we reported that GeekWeek was saying they had an exclusive and that English model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who has pretty much no acting experience, was going to take Megan Fox's love interest role in Transformers 3. At the time while the report could have been true, it seemed somewhat unlikely, particularly as she's never even had a guest starring role in a TV show, however Deadline now confirms Michael Bay's interest in Jason Statham's girlfriend.
Initially the site reported that Bay had whittled his shortlist down to three names - Huntington-Whiteley, Sarah Wright and Brooklyn Decker. Although the latter two both have acting experience, all three are primarily models, suggesting that reports Bay is obssesed with "absurd standards of beauty" may be correct. Deadline then updated their story to say that, 'The other actresses on the short-list have been informed that the female lead will go to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, so unless things fall apart at the negotiating table, she's the new Transformers 3 gal.'
Let's hope the girl can act, as she's yet to make much of an impression of screen, other than at Victoria Secrets Fashion Shows (which is apparently where she first met Bay). However the director wanted a fresh face, and let's face it, it's not like he called on Megan Fox to do much acting - her job was to look sexy and never get dirty, no matter how many explosions she got caught up in. It's not even like Huntingtin-Whiteley has much time for acting lessons, as shooting on Transformers 3 has already started, and she'll be expected on set in two weeks time.
