While most remakes are bad news, we're kind of intrigued by the new version of The Karate Kid, with Will Smith's son, Jaden, taking over the Ralph Macchio role (although playing it a little younger as he's only 11), and Jackie Chan in the Mr Miyagi part (although called Mr. Han in this new version). Chan has already cooed over Jaden's martial arts skills, and in these first official photos, it certainly looks like the Fresh Prince Jr. has some skills.
The plot of this one is slightly different to the first, with a single mother moving to China (which as you can see below, allows them to use locations like the Great Wall of China), but still has a bullied youth embracing Karate and being taught to be a martial arts master. The film is due in UK cinema on July 16th, 2010, but take a look below for the first images.
