For ages there were plans to remake Escape From New York, and while those have fallen through, we're getting something very similar with Lockout, which stars Guy Pearce as a wrongly convicted criminal who's offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison that's been taken over by violent inmates. From the evidence of this trailer, Pearce is definitely channelling the spirit of Snake Plissken. The Luc Besson co-written flick is due out April 13th, 2012.
